We can help your company with issues concerning:

  • Intellectual Property Agreements

A key specialism is contracts concerning in the development, assignment, licensing, sale and/or exploitation of IP rights of all kinds, particularly software licensing.

  • Outsourcing & Manufacturer Agreements

Our experienced legal experts can help your business with IT outsourcing, business process outsourcing and supply chain contracting.

  • Information Technology Agreements

Founded by a software engineer turned technology lawyer, we are ideally placed to help you navigate issues with software development and licensing, IT outsourcing and SaaS deals.

  • Digital Trading & E-commerce Issues

Navigating the minefield of regulations concerned with online distance selling can be tricky. We can help ensure that you’re compliant with e-commerce and other trading regulations.

  • Data Protection & GDPR

Now more than ever, data protection is a pressing issue. Strict regulations are in place and it’s important both that your business is compliant, and that contracts with customers and suppliers appropriately address data protection risks.

Cost effective specialist legal advice

We will work with you to find a flexible and bespoke cost solution that best fits the projects we undertake with you. As former in-house lawyers we know that flexibility is important as well as costs certainty. The three main ways that we price our work are set out below. That said, we’re always happy to discuss other fee solutions.

  • One Time Fee Projects

We are happy to provide a fixed fee quotation for an agreed scope of work where appropriate and will work with you to understand the work required. We can provide quotes for stages of work to make legal budget management an easier task. We will suggest fixed fees over hourly rates wherever appropriate, as this reduces your businesses exposure to overrun and its associated costs.

  • Hourly Rates

We can charge for work done based on our current hourly rates if you prefer this method of engagement; we will usually provide a fee estimate and let you know when we are close reaching the limit of that estimate so that you have complete clarity on how your money is being spent.

  • Tech Counsel Subscription

Our Tech Counsel subscription model is a flexible retained service that allows you to purchase a number of days of our time each month, effectively providing an in-house legal style of ongoing commercial law service. This can be useful for clients with legal requirements which span several months, as the daily rates are discounted as against our usual hourly rates. This service can benefit clients that have no in-house legal counsel. Alternatively it can assist existing in-house teams who need extra resource due to business demands from time to time.
